Fly To The Sun To Release Their Inaugural Album Featuring Members of Jethro Tull, Kansas, Jeff Beck, Mr. Big, Ringo Starr’s All-Stars and Others on October 27, 2023

Featuring Ray (Universe Records), Jennifer Batten (Jeff Beck, Michael Jackson), Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs), Andrew Giddings (Jethro Tull, The Animals), Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr, ELO, David Lee Roth), Joe Deninzon (Kansas), JJ Sansaverino and other very notable musicians.

This new eclectic album project by innovative band Fly To The Sun crosses over into several musical genres, including prog rock, progressive pop, art rock, R&B, and more.

Featuring Ray (Vocals, flute - Universe Records), Jennifer Batten (Guitar - Jeff Beck, Michael Jackson), Billy Sheehan (Bass - David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs), Andrew Giddings (Keyboards - Jethro Tull, The Animals), Gregg Bissonette (Drums - Ringo Starr, ELO, David Lee Roth), Joe Deninzon (Violin - Kansas), JJ Sansaverino (Guitar - #1 Billboard) and other very notable musicians.

The outstanding production work by Andrew Giddings (16-year keyboardist/producer with Jethro Tull) has brought a wealth of expertise, arrangement experience, and keyboard excellence into the project. Carol Roehner is lead producer on the project, and her music capabilities, organizational skills, and intellect have been the foundation of the project.  Working on the project with assistance from producer/composer/musician Alex Grata, Ray as executive producer decided to create songs that are unique and appealing to a wide range of musical tastes.  The songs have an upbeat musical structure and positive lyrical content.

Ray has always been a staunch follower of progressive rock music icons like Jethro Tull, Yes, Pink Floyd, Queen, and other rock legends that pushed the envelope into uncharted musical territory and had a huge impact on his life.  Assembling this band of world class musicians to join him, Ray decided to produce music that will have a positive impact on listeners, hoping to help them feel good at a time in history when “feel good” songs are sorely needed.

Ray said, “The line by 70’s band Ten Years After, ‘I’d love to change the world, but I don’t know what to do,’ has always resonated with me. I would love nothing more than to produce music that genuinely makes people feel happy about their life, and going forward, that’s what I endeavor to do in this new body of work.”

Fly To The Sun has released the first single from their upcoming album. Watch the video for “Soaring With Angels”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGOSdggYx1Q

TrancEnd Releases Debut Album “Lilac” Where Prog Meets Trip-hop, Electronica, Groove & Pop

What happens when Prog meets Trip-hop meets Electronica meets Groove meets Pop? A mind meld of 90s Euro-trance history savored in twenty-first century progressive techno-pop. TrancEnd defies the genre labels with their galvanizing auditory epicure of sultry vocals; ambient head-space environments; and surf-shimmer guitars - glued together with deep beats landing squarely in your chest compelling your body to sway and head to rock side-to-side.

TrancEnd’s debut album release, “Lilac,” brings the listener into the now moment with an awestruck delivery of soundscape and lyrical imagery. Their live performances are captivating - demanding your attention and immersing your senses in an unforgettable experience of color, shape, and sound.

TrancEnd brings their love for 90s Euro trip-hop while experimenting with constrained metal rudiments tempered by catchy pop-rhythms. They are a “must see” phenomenon that continues to amaze fans and impress venue managers.

“Are you experienced?” Have the “TrancEnd experience” and find out what thousands of fans are discovering about this new artist and how they capture the essence of what we all seek in sonic bliss.

Who is TrancEnd?

Brittany LeAnn - Vocals (song lyrics and melodies)
Evan Maurus - Guitar (song writer, arranger, co-producer)
Ian Maurus - Drums
Zachary Maurus - Guitar (audio engineer, co-producer, mixing and mastering, live show automation)

Backstory:

The band formed during the Covid Dark Ages in 2020 - a merciless time for performing musicians, but it did provide a focused space for song writing and collaboration. The Maurus brothers: Ian, Evan, and Zachary, originally from the Detroit area, were involved in death metal projects in Michigan, then moved to North Carolina in 2015, where they recorded a brilliant 10-track death metal album and an EP. They toured locally in North Carolina and surrounding states until 2018 when their vocalist departed. Although metal is still a passion for the Maurus brothers, they knew they may have to change musical direction to survive and appeal to a world-wide audience. Like water, creativity finds a path. They paused, and the great “inner-muse” took over.

Evan Maurus, the band’s lead guitarist and songwriter, having an eclectic taste for not only a plethora of Metal subgenres, but Prog, Trip-hop, Trance Lounge, and Electronica, decided to experiment with writing in the vein of some of his favorite and most influential artist in those genres. Artists like Portishead, Hooverphonic, Mono, Thievery Corporation, Massive Attack, Delirium, and other heavy-hitters of the 90s Trip-hop movement. Says Evan, “Hooverphonic and Portishead were the greatest influence and inspiration for the original instrumental tracks that later became the bedrock for TrancEnd’s debut release, ‘Lilac.’”

Once Evan had the pre-production of his instrumental works complete, about 20 tracks, the search began for a vocalist and co-writer. In the spring of 2020, Evan found singer Brittany LeAnn. Says Evan, “Brittany is an amazing vocalist and songwriter that seemed to be the jelly in the PB&J. She was writing lyrics and melodies about one song a week, and sometimes two.”

Everything came together almost effortlessly, and after the pre-production work was complete, the recording of the album began in the Maurus brother’s studio, “Maurus Audio.” This is where the magic happened and the TrancEnd original sound took shape. Zachary Maurus was the audio engineer and co-producer for the album. When he received the pre-production tracks from Evan, he was a little concerned about how to approach this genre of music. He explained, “As an audio engineer and producer for mostly death metal projects, I was a little apprehensive about how to mix Pop/Trip-hop/Trance music. I had to re-train my brain to stop myself from making the drums sound like guns and cannons.”

The scratchy drum loops and samples used traditionally in the Trip-hop sound were a part of the original pre-production tracks, but, during the recording of the album, Zachary wanted to experiment by putting live drums in the tracks. With the intention to tour and perform with live drums, the band replaced the scratch drums on the album. Ian Maurus then started learning the songs and cutting drum tracks. It transformed the sound of the pre-production intent giving it an edgy pop feel that the band felt set their sound apart from similar artists in the genre. What started as a Trip-hop project morphed into a Prog/Art-rock sound. When Brittany started cutting the vocal tracks, the harmonies and melodic imagery brought the “wow factor” to a new level of brilliance. When asked about how she writes her lyrics and melodies, Brittany said very candidly, “I channeled my soul - it just flows out.”

It was during the recording of “Lilac” that the band came up with the name “TrancEnd.” It was the perfect name for what seemed to be a transcendent experience for the band: Brittany had just moved across country stepping into a creative role in  the music; the Maurus brothers making the transition from death metal to Prog/Art-rock. The name TrancEnd is a play on the genre, Trip-hop/Trance Lounge. The album title, “Lilac” was chosen because it is the first word of the first song on the album, “Landing.” The lyric, “Lilac in the desert, shaded from the sun…,” inspired the album art (by Joon Lugo) - a desert scene with a lonely lilac tree in the foreground. Says Brittany, “It’s a metaphor for being in the perfect environment for growth yet constrained by living in a shadow.”

In December 2021, the band shot a self-produced music video to support the first song release, “Do Something.” Then, the moment of truth: three years after forming, TrancEnd released their 13-track debut album, “Lilac.” “Every track on the album is strong and could be considered the sleeper-album of the year,” says TrancEnd’s manager, Chris Maurus. “I had been in and out of the studio while the album was being mixed and thought, ‘OK, yeah - that sounds great,’ but when I got a copy of the master and sat down to listen to all 13 tracks, I was blown away. I knew right there they had something special - it plays like a concept album where every song flows together creating a mosaic of a larger picture - Lilac!”

TrancEnd has a vision to bring their signature sound to the world, share their joy with fans, and contribute to the collective good. Brittany explains, “We believe our music is a messenger - it creates a space where people can transcend their differences and unite within the sound…”

Seldom do I find a band that has it all; that is destined for greatness; that has that magic synergy. TrancEnd are a hypnotic mix of genre-bending Prog with strong signature traits consisting of a distinct vocal style, skilled musicianship; dynamic song structure; and a stellar production. A talented band with authentic chemistry and a sonic and visual identity that transcends the ordinary and pleases the senses." - JD, Closer to the Edge, Asheville FM

Phil Collins and Dave Grohl have managed it, and so too has Pat Mastelotto, a self taught drummer from Northern California, who has also been involved with pushing the envelope of electronic drumming. Pat has spent a lifetime jumping genres from pop, to prog, to electronica to world music with – among others – Mr. Mister, XTC, David Sylvian, The Rembrandts, Kimmo Pohjonen, and for the last 25 years with King Crimson and Stick Men.

Markus Reuter is a composer, guitarist, and producer. He began his musical journey as a composer before delving into Robert. Fripp’s Guitar Craft, mastering the Chapman Stick, and eventually transitioning to the U8 Touch Guitar. Reuter has released numerous solo albums and has collaborated extensively with various musicians. He holds a prominent position in the experimental band Anchor and Burden and forms the duo Tuner with Pat. Additionally, he was a member of Europa String Choir and has worked alongside notable artists such as Gary Husband, Robert Rich, J. Peter Schwalm, Mark Wingfield, and many others. Reuter’s versatility is evident through his involvement in Devin Townsend’s touring band. Guitarist/Composer Alex Anthony Faide To Release Long Awaited Solo Album “Particles of the Infinite” Featuring King Crimson’s Pat Mastelotto On 7d Media March 18, 2022

AAF plays my guitar parts better than I do.”  - Robert Fripp

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Guitarist/Composer Alex Anthony Faide has a decades-long international reputation for being the secret weapon in rock recordings, arrangements, and stage productions in Europe and Latin America. Now based in Seattle, WA, Faide will release his long-awaited solo record – “Particles of the Infinite” – a display of guitar pyrotechnics in nine parts, in March 2022 on Trey Gunn’s label 7d Media. Inspired by and developed from concepts found in songs such as King Crimson’s “Fracture” and “Lark’s Tongues in Aspic,” Faide takes the work beyond the stratosphere into the mirror dimension to find something completely his own. In the words of his mentor Robert Fripp, “AAF plays my guitar parts better than I do.”

Faide spent 2017-19 touring, songwriting, and arranging, with Mexican hard rock heroes Molotov on their MTV Unplugged Show “El Desconecte” and as a sideman for Molotov front man Tito Fuentes’ acclaimed solo record “El Ocaso.” He is currently working on a new project with legendary German producer/songwriter Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen, founder and main composer for the band Nena.

Faide is the co-founder of cherished 3rd wave surf rock band, Los Twang! Marvels, in addition to Los Gauchos Alemanes/Electric Gauchos. He has also worked with artists including Markus Reuter, Namgar, Willie Campins, Crystal Beth, TROOT, Kathy Moore, Tiny Orchestral Moments, Los Primitivos, and Lutz Petersen, among countless others.

Says Alex, “It is difficult to determine the true origin of this work, though it stands undeniably as a tribute to my guitar instructor, life mentor, and friend, Robert Fripp. Ideas and compositions started taking shape in April 2016 in response to a challenge set forth by long-time collaborator and life brother Steve Ball (League of Crafty Guitarists, Electric Gauchos, Prometheus) to come up with my own version of King Crimson’s ‘Fracture’ and ‘Lark’s Tongues in Aspic.’ Mr. Fripp’s writing and guitar work in these monumental pieces strike me as expertly unique blends of influences in contemporary electric guitar repertoire, which inspired me to dive deeply into my own voice and personal practice to accept the challenge issued.

“What sparked my interest the most was the notion of a fierce, heavy rock attitude and sound, executed with pristine precision in a contemporary classical music tradition on an electrified instrument. I am mesmerized by the section of “Fracture” known as “Perpetuum Mobile” and with the guitarist’s capacity to execute intricate parts in an effortless fashion with a triangular plectrum. The challenge to evoke such intricacy seems to me both impossibly fragile and risky.

“Once the embryonic emergence of ‘Particles of the Infinite Parts I through III’ began to take shape, it became clear this was going to be a full-length record and require a full nine parts to complete the body of work I set out to explore. ‘Particles of the Infinite’ sums up 30 years of personal development and research on the guitar, derived and gleaned from direct guitar instruction as part of Guitar Craft, and the live practice of experiencing life as an international touring musician in myriad genres and settings. I traveled almost monthly between Argentina, Mexico, and the US from 2017-2019, developing this work between shows and collaborations, in hotel rooms and airbnb’s, with recordings intermittently in Seattle when the moment allowed.”

The 9 frameworks that make up “Particles of the Infinite” are presented in triptych (Pt. I-III / Pt. IV-VI / Pt. VII – IX) each containing particular techniques (alternate and cross-picking, stamina, release and flow for the left hand, exploration of diminished /symmetric scale relationships, rhythmic displacement & vector harmonization) - and interpretations of various themes, motifs and passages. There are many convergences imprinted in the music, playing style and overall tone.

Says Alex, “Obviously part of the material stands as a tribute to Fripp, however I am always pushing towards my own musical horizon and following the demands of the Muse. I hear it as ‘gold panning’ in musical form. One could arguably call this record “just a fancy collection of chops”…and I would happily agree with that. But I regard these techniques and interpretations as a cross-pollinating and ever-evolving body of work that points to a larger idea in the ever-expanding continuum of the electric guitar. Above all, these techniques are simply a means to an end, the end being the ability to let music speak freely and continually in real time.

“It’s interesting to experience the evolving arc throughout the whole record start to finish, personally it represents a sort of a surprising navigation chart helping me (and hopefully the listener as well) to find a center of gravity amidst the storm. May the Higher Powers grant Us the Patience to endure and the Strength to persevere. As they say: Ad Astra per Aspera.”

Prog Ensemble Vast Conduit To Release Debut Album “Always Be There” February 16, 2022

Prog ensemble Vast Conduit featuring keyboardist/vocalist Bill Jenkins, best known for his work with Enchant and Thought Chamber, will be releasing their debut album “Always Be There” on February 16, 2022.

This album is dedicated to the notion of doing whatever we can to build and cherish all parent/child relationships, regardless of circumstance. There are so many different ways these can suffer – death, divorce, illness, self-centeredness, etc. – yet they are so vital to our happiness and well-being. Every moment we have to support each other and make each other's lives better is precious.

Says Bill, “The songs ‘Always Be There’ and also ‘Early Eclipse’ convey the main message of the album. The release date is the 40th anniversary of my father’s passing, which set in motion a path through life and philosophy described by the songs on the album. I had the basic song ideas in place for almost all of these songs sitting around for years and it was simply time to finally make it all happen.”

The Fates conspired and a fortuitous set of circumstances created a vast conduit, galvanizing what might have otherwise been a run-of-the-mill progressive rock project with an abundance of musical talent and prowess. Keyboardist Bill Jenkins (Enchant, Thought Chamber), musing over some material near to heart, enlisted the talents of these amazing musicians to bring that material to light: Adding everything from scorching leads to subtle emoting is virtuosic guitarist Michael Harris (Arch Rival, Thought Chamber, Darkology, Michael Harris Tranz-Fusion). Laying the foundation with solid grooves and making odd time signatures seem effortless and feel natural is drummer Will Jenkins (Ghost and the City, Great Wall). The venerable Jeff Plant solidifies that foundation with electric and fretless bass (also from Thought Chamber and whose pedigree otherwise is too long to list here and whose amazing bass playing simply speaks for itself). Adding just the right amount of smoke and fire off his rosined bow is violinist Jim Hurley (who has performed with the likes of Ritchie Blackmore, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Ancient Future, and Queen Ida’s Grammy-winning Bon Temps Zydeco Band, among many others). Rounding out the list are the satiny vocals of Friel (a truly rare gem of vocal talent to have somehow, somewhere, out of the blue, been found for this project).

With the players in place, a cross-country recording project began, finishing with Vast Conduit’s initial studio album release “Always Be There” - a centrally themed album that explores several musical genres. Although progressive rock in nature, when pressed for a singular genre, Michael jokingly suggested “smooth prog.” After the requisite laughter, the recognition of how apropos of a description it was settled in, and laughter shifted to nods of approval as it was fully embraced by the band.

The album started as just an EP project, and recording of 3 of the songs with demo vocals started several years ago. Then covid happened and opened up the opportunity and availability to expand it to a full album.

Along with the core ensemble, the album features some guest artists. Having known the California Guitar Trio guys for some time, and loving their sound, Bill had always hoped to get them involved in a song. Bert Lams agreed to add his acoustic guitar to “Early Eclipse,” and helped in adjusting the arrangement to work even better with the addition of his parts.

Bill’s brother Tom Abraira plays the lead on trumpet on the track “Philly Etymology.” There were two spots for a female voice on this album. Says Bill, “I heard Manon’s singing in High Hopes Acapella, and invited her to sing the female part in ‘Barrier.’ Having worked with Betsy Walter previously, I already had an earlier demo of ‘Early Eclipse’ with her voice in it and used her part from under the solo in that song and it fit perfectly.”

Finally, there was an old recording of the instrumental idea that became “Wesley Save Us” that had Jessica Jenkins’ voice when they were a toddler. “With Jess’s voice being my association with that song for so many years, and given the theme of the album, working a few of those samples in just had to happen.”

Work has already begun on writing for the next album. After the release, the band will look into opportunities for live performances. In closing Bill has this to say, “If our listeners enjoy the music even half as much as we enjoyed creating it, that would be amazing!”

Talk Talk, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Blur Veterans Unite on Debut Album By Held By Trees Titled ‘Solace’

Held By Trees is a new instrumental project featuring some of the most respected musicians in the British rock fraternity. Sitting between post-rock and prog, the outfit led by David Joseph announces their debut album, ‘Solace’, which will be released in April 2022.

Boasting seven veterans of the seminal latter Talk Talk and Mark Hollis solo albums, other contributors include Tim Renwick (Guitar - Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Eric Clapton), Mike Smith (Sax - Blur, Damon Albarn, Gorillaz), David Knopfler (Guitar - Dire Straits founding member), Gary Alesbrook (Trumpet - Noel Gallagher, Kasabian, Super Furry Animals) as well as parts from blues/roots legend, Eric Bibb, Dutch rising-star, Just, and ambient composer, Unknown Replica.

After establishing themselves with pop hits such as ‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Life’s What You Make It’, Talk Talk, led by Mark Hollis and producer, Tim Friese-Greene, broke new musical ground, defining what would later be termed as ‘post-rock’ with their seminal album, ‘Spirit of Eden’ (1988). Three years later they returned with ‘Laughing Stock’. Part of that creative process was to invite musicians they respected in to improvise on their arrangements. Guitarist Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, John Mayer), drummer/percussionist Martin Ditcham (Chris Rea, The Waterboys, Nik Kershaw), bassist Simon Edwards (Michael Jackson, Billy Bragg, Fairground Attraction) all took part in those sessions, and have now contributed to ’Solace’. A solo record from Mark Hollis followed in 1998 which featured pianist Lawrence Pendrous, and flautist/Clarinettist Andy Panayi, both of whom have also now played for Held By Trees. Engineering all of these albums, as well as classics like John Martyn’s 'One World’, is Phill Brown, with Denis Blackham mastering them. Phill and Denis have kindly come out of retirement to mix and master this debut album from Held By Trees.

‘Solace’ was made using a similar approach to ‘Spirit of Eden’ and ‘Laughing Stock’, with David Joseph inviting musicians to improvise over his rhythm patterns and chord progressions. Blending in his own spontaneous compositions and field recordings made in Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, the result is a unique album that carries the DNA of the seminal Talk Talk records, and yet stands in its own identity.

‘Solace’ is a work that revels in the natural world. At once both melancholic and hopeful, the album is purposefully full of space, tension and release, and music that demands patient listening. The project celebrates nature, not just through the music and artwork (including a motif from Talk Talk’s artistic partner, James Marsh), but by partnering with Play It Green, a real tree is planted for each album sold. Held By Trees thereby removes more carbon from the atmosphere than it produces.

All told, Held By Trees begins its career with an impressive first album project with unique claims and a tantalizing cast of contributors.

‘Solace’ is released on 22nd April 2022 on Tweed Jacket Music through Nova/Plastic Head Distribution

Prog Ensemble The Far Cry Releases Debut Album “If Only”

Prog ensemble The Far Cry has released their debut album “If Only.” Though not intended in any way to be a “concept” album, “If Only” very much exhibits a connecting common thread of human emotion and perspective meeting real human conditions.

Apparently, some people just won’t give up on long held goals and aspirations. Jeff Brewer and Robert Hutchinson, co-conspirators behind the inception of what was to become The Far Cry, can vividly recall the musical awakening that occurred in their younger days when The Beatles landed and with all that followed. Soon thereafter, they each were even more deeply moved by the emergence of the Progressive Rock bands of the early 70’s, most notably King Crimson, Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Genesis and Gentle Giant.

Jeff and Hutch first crossed paths around 1976 with the formation of a short-lived rock covers band. Common ground occurred later, though not simultaneously, when both were members of Connecticut prog-rock band Holding Pattern, Hutch as co-founder from 1980-83 and, after Hutch left the band, Jeff joined as lead vocalist & percussionist from 1984 to 1993 when the band ceased operations.

Fast forward to 2013 when Hutch purchased a speaker cabinet Jeff had for sale. In the attendant dialogue, the pursuit of the likely impossible was quickly broached and a decision was made to chase the dream just one more time. Thus the seeds for The Far Cry were sown.

Unfortunately, due to the ambitious and stylistic nature of the music they were pursuing, connecting with suitable personnel to complete the band lineup was met with recurring difficulty and disappointment.

Eventually, the duo decided to enter the recording studio to get the material up and running. Guitarist Bryan Collin had already been in contact, having answered a Craigslist ad, and was amenable to playing on the recordings. As he did so, he became intrigued and more strongly connected to the music and the band concept. Certainly his stellar contributions and playing on the “If Only” CD demonstrate that. Bryan Collin was now The Far Cry guitarist.

Still, a highly competent keyboardist was required. Studio owner and master engineer John Bolduc was asked if he knew of any keyboard man who could properly interpret and perform the music he was hearing.

John responded instantaneously: Chris Dabbo. No time was wasted in contacting him. At first, Chris came on as a session man but very quickly demonstrated his impressive skill set as well as a connection to and understanding of the music. All involved were highly enthused and Chris was drafted in as keyboardist for The Far Cry.

Hence, the “If Only” CD is a result of a step by step evolution by what has now become a fully formed membership. Robert Hutchinson, Jeff Brewer, Bryan Collin and Chris Dabbo are the artists that comprise The Far Cry. The future awaits

Says the band, “Our fondest wish and recommendation is that this music should be listened to from beginning to end uninterrupted through a great set of headphones.”

The Far Cry is now formulating plans for the creation of videos to support the music from the CD. Certainly, live performance will be part of the near future and into 2022. Also, work on the next CD to follow “If Only” will begin within the next couple of months.

The Far Cry:
Chris Dabbo: piano. keyboards, vocals
Robert Hutchinson: drums, percussion, bells, spoken word
Jeff Brewer: lead vocals, bass, bass synth, bass pedals, guitar.
Bryan Collin: lead guitar, Electric and acoustic guitars.

Eternal Return’s Debut Release “Once Only” Featuring Members Of Porcupine Tree and Fripp’s Crafty Guitar School Available On NEWdOG Records

The international progressive ensemble Eternal Return is a five-piece combining various duos/trios that have previously recorded and toured together. Notably, Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree, NoMan, O.R.k.) on bass with his frequent collaborator, Estonian guitarist Robert Jürjendal (Toyah Wilcox, Fripp’s Crafty Guitar School). At the heart of the band is Dogon, the duo of Miguel Noya, (Venezuelan electronic music pioneer, Phantom Limb Recordings) and Paul Godwin, (California-based composer/singer). Dogon have been widely celebrated and aired since the late ‘90s - “the best of progressive ambient”- WIRED Magazine. Holding down this aerial act is Miguel Toro, Venezuelan-born, Berlin-based drummer (Royal Dust). It seems like a distant past when five musicians from around the world could meet in a foreign city to record an album in-person, but that’s just what they did. They came from Venezuela, England, Estonia, California & Spain to meet in Berlin and form this band. The result is something flowing and hypnotic, mysterious yet comforting.

Colin Edwin's tasteful fretless bass combined with atmospheric textures, and voice from ETERNAL RETURN unveils songs built on air. A special and sensitive offering.” - Bill Laswell, Hell’s Kitchen, NYC, January 2021

Once Only”

The debut album was recorded in Berlin in late 2019 by Bob Spencer at The Famous Gold Watch Studio (a former munitions factory and Stasi HQ) and mixed at Pete Townsend’s Grand Cru boat studio in London’s St. Katherine’s Docks by Jonathon Hucks. The album is concerned with “nomadism” in a time of lockdown inspired by Noya’s status as part of Venezuelan economic and political diaspora (currently living in Europe.) Musically siting progressive ambient and dream-pop influences such as Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden, David Sylvian’s solo work, or the mysterious and finely wrought 4AD project, This Mortal Coil - - the album is something fresh, darkly intimate and beguiling.

Italian Music Artist Annie Barbazza To Release Debut Solo Album "Vive"

Featuring Greg Lake, Fred Frith, Daniel Lanois, John Greaves, Paul Roland and others!

Italian music artist Annie Barbazza is releasing her first solo album “Vive” on February 29, 2020 on Dark Companion Records. She was a young drummer in love with progressive rock when Greg Lake discovered her talent as a singer and wanted her on stage with him for the concert which would later become the posthumous “Live in Piacenza”. Again Lake produced “Moonchild”, the duo with pianist Max Repetti for Manticore Records where she sang many songs formerly sang by Lake with ELP and King Crimson. If these were the beginnings of Annie’s career, now she is a rising star of the international Avant/Prog scene. Her friendship with John Greaves (Henry Cow, National Health) leads her to collaborate permanently live with the Welsh musician and to collaborate on his latest albums (“Piacenza” for Dark Companion and “Life Size” for Manticore).

Another one of her stable collaborations is the one with legendary writer-singer-songwriter Paul Roland with whom Annie regularly performs live as a bassist and singer and in the studio also as a drummer. Of extraordinary success both with critics and audiences is the recent collaboration with the North Sea Radio Orchestra as main vocalist in “Folly Bololey” (Dark Companion), the tribute to Robert Wyatt which triumphed at Rock In Opposition festival and at Cafe Oto in London, the cradle of new music. In studio she collaborates, among others, with Giorgio Fico Piazza and with Warm Morning Brothers, while live she performs together with artists such as Eugenio Finardi, Osanna, Robyn Hitchcock and many more, in addition to the ones afore-mentioned.

This album has a long history: Greg Lake originally wanted Annie to played all the instruments, but the record slowly turned into an all-star friends collaboration for most of them asked Annie to be part of it, from Fred Frith to John Greaves, from Lino Capra Vaccina to Daniel Lanois and Paul Roland. All tracks are original with the exception of two tracks written for her by John Greaves and Paul Roland and a cover of the splendid Blegvad / Greaves classic, “How Beautiful You Are”.

Who know Annie is aware of her elusive, shy nature. By these songs she gave voice to her inner ghosts and dreams, desires and fierce creativity.

An intimate, courageous, innovative album in which the many influences and musical styles of Annie melts together. Producer Max Marchini wanted to keep as immediate as they were conceived and played, avoiding overengineerings and over arrangements. The result is a collections of songs that span over the years working on which the many sides of the sparking, incredible voice of Annie Barbazza are the main character.

The album cover is visual artist William Xerra’s design. The album was recorded and produced at legendary Elfo Studios in Tavernago (Italy), in audiophile quality.

“I think if you can have any gift in music, the greatest gift is to be a singer. Annie’s unique voice is at the same time beautiful, brave and heartfelt.” - Greg Lake

“Annie is a phenomenon. She has a big voice and big heart and she’s eager to learn. Those are the characteristics of all the great musicians I’ve worked with. I can’t wait to see what she does next!” - Fred Frith

“I am in awe of Annie’s numerous gifts; her mellifluous voice, her mastery of so many instruments and most surprising of all - her incredibly diverse range of influences from classic rock to ambient and beyond. Not to forget her impeccable taste in cover versions!” - Paul Roland

“I’m very proud to know Annie as a dear friend. One day, on stage, on the radio in your kitchen, on the net or wherever you chance to hear her, you will know how great she is.” - John Greaves

Cosmic Guitarist & Songwriter Roy Herman To Release Two Debut Albums - Uncle Roy & The Band From Another Planet "Save The Universe" & Uncle Roy's Spaceship "How Do We Get To Earth"

Two completely different music projects! Released September 1 & 2, 2019!

WELCOME THIRD ROCKERS FROM THE SUN!!!
UNCLE ROY AND THE BAND FROM ANOTHER PLANET “SAVE THE UNIVERSE” 5-song EP is the very first release for U.R. and the B.F.A.P and will be released on September 1, 2019. The five, alternative rock-pop rock vocal tunes, range from sweet and ethereal, to a heavy blend of rock, alternative rock, classical rock, progressive rock, power pop rock and modern, pop rock musics. There are wonderful stories in the lyrics and lyrics that will make you feel and think about life. You can hear many different musical influences, within the sounds of U.R. and the B.F.A.P.. “This is all about fun! Enjoy!,” says Uncle Roy. Included with the physical CD is a beautiful 8-page booklet filled with fun, sci-fi stories and thoughts, pictures, song descriptions and lyrics written by Uncle Roy. There is also a cool, inventive and “top secret” alien photo file attached to the CD of Alien Uncle Roy.

WELCOME EARTHLINGS!!!
UNCLE ROY'S SPACESHIP “HOW DO WE GET TO EARTH?” is a 5-song EP and the very first instrumental release for Uncle Roy's Spaceship and will be released on September 2, 2019. The music is a progressive, instrumental recipe of several genres of rock music, blending time signatures and tempos, within instrumental rock, progressive rock, fusion, classical rock, space rock, jazz rock and other cosmic sounds, at this moment in space and time. There is a galaxy of musical influences from many light years of playing, that you can hear within the sounds. Sometimes, the soundscapes will be light and breezy and dreamy. And sometimes, the soundscapes will be heavy, thick and creamy. Some tunes may have a bit of both, with a sprinkling or splashing of other musical textures and moods from soft to intense…Uncle Roy says,“Instantaneously, music finds our emotions and at the speed of light, brings them out! Music, stimulates our imagination! Fun, with music! Enjoy!” Included with the physical CD is a beautiful 8-page booklet filled with fun, sci-fi stories and thoughts, pictures and song descriptions written by Uncle Roy.

Uncle Roy & The Band From Another Planet “Save The Universe” & Uncle Roy's Spaceship “How Do We Get To Earth” is ROY LEONARD HERMAN. All music, lyrics and stories are, composed, performed and written by Uncle Roy. Roy Leonard Herman is the creator of original, multi-genre, styles of rock music from alternative rock to progressive rock and more. When asked, Uncle Roy says: “Music is a vehicle to bring the mind, the spirit, the soul and the body together. Music, inspires our greatest emotions to emerge. Music, inspires millions upon millions of people to enjoy a fantastic moment of living, simultaneously. Music, heals the heart and opens it up to life. Music is, magical! Music is, a state of happiness and freedom! I hope to create music for people of different musical tastes. Some will like vocal tunes and some will like instrumentals. Some will like pop music and some will like progressive music. And, I hope to give them all, some of what they love to hear. It inspires me to do different projects to please everyone I can who loves music. There is a third project, different from these two, that is materializing!”

“SAVE THE UNIVERSE”
Uncle Roy says, “For 'Save The Universe' I wanted to create a set of tunes that were not one style of rock or just heavy or just light. I wanted to have some of the musical ingredients, from several rock stylings, within the scope of the music. I wanted the recipe for this project to be more universal, with a mix of rock genres. Therefore, each tune has its own musical and lyrical difference and character from the others. There is soft guitar and screaming guitar. There are dreamy, orchestral keyboards to, thick, and rockin' keyboards. The drums may lightly and tightly groove for a section of a tune and then, be pounding. The bass will be subtle at times and then, sometimes big and fat. Vocally, you will find the voices of the songs going from the mellow and grand to heavy rock to a little, talk-singin' and preachin'. For every letter of the alphabet, there is a musical influence that has manipulated my musical, genetic makeup, over a few light years. The world's music is broad, cultural, always evolving and it is what influences me musically, as well, all the time.”

The song list:
“COSMIC HAPPINESS” is a fun, alternative pop rocker that begins with a spacey, rock intro, as the cosmic, long distance romance story in the lyrics, unfolds. The tune rolls from a classic, bouncy, rock boogie groove, to a cool, hooky and rockin' chorus.
“THE ISLE OF RIFF ON THE WORLD OF TONE” - this alternative rock tune opens with a tight, soaring rock motif that flows into a sweet, thick and grand alternative rock/pop rock verse. The verse slides into a heavy rock bridge that crescendos into a catchy, power pop, alternative rock chorus. The words tell the story of a peaceful, majestic, utopian world, where everyone is welcome.
“A WORLD OF MIRACLES” is a mellow, beautiful, dreamy, ethereal, philosophical, thoughtful song. With a couple of harmonious, chiming guitars, a pulse, and crisp and bright vocals, the song is filled with fairytale lyrics that create visions about some of the enchanted things we all would love in our lives.
“FATHER TIME” mixes an explosive, rock beginning that, ascends into the verses, as the music takes on the magic and vibe of an old, traditional 'pub' sing along song that evolves into an alternative-progressive, power pop rock finale. The lyrics remind us of the power and importance of, time.
“IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER” is, an alternative rock tune with a world music vibe. The tune begins with an airy and misty music and vocal section. The song builds into a catchy, pop rock bridge that develops into a thumping, driving, preachin', talk-singin' chorus. The words address the whole world issue of racism, prejudice and equality across the Earth.

“HOW DO WE GET TO EARTH?”
WELCOME TO THE STORY AND JOURNEY OF UNCLE ROYS SPACESHIP!!!
“After trying for a few light years of time, to repair the navigational system of my spaceship, due to a small ice particle smashing into the lens of the interstellar space guiding system, at the nose of this ship, I suddenly realized that my course direction had changed, drastically! None of the constellations or orbiting bodies were familiar. Distant solar systems were out of place in the twilight! The galaxy I was orbiting, was not, the Milky Way! I must have drifted into a wormhole while working on the repair. Which didn’t work. I need a few parts. Good thing is, at least, I found a map of our solar system and the Milky Way under my drivers seat. If I get close to home, it could help. 'Let's see. The map says, 'Map of the Solar System,' 1987..What!?  What!? 1987! Oh man! This map is, ancient! Talk about, lost in space! Hopefully, I'll meet someone out here who knows where I am, where I can get some parts and how I can return home…I guess I'll just play some music while I survey my surroundings and give this galaxy a couple of orbits, so I can get comfy in my new neighborhood..Man! Whatever universe this is, it sure is a beautiful, sparkling place! Navigation by the stars! Oh yeah! I need some drivin' music! Hmmm…Some of my Uncle Roy's Spaceship music will do just fine! One thing about outer space is that, no one care's about how loud or how long you play it! Everybody, everywhere, loves Earth music!!!” The adventure, begins…

Uncle Roy says, “I love instrumental music! From soloists to small groups to orchestral instrumentals, through a variety of music, the dynamic sensitivities within instrumental music makes me feel a rollercoaster of sensations and emotions!!! So, I thought that creating a project of some tunes with the ingredients of a few instrumental rock music genres together, would be fun! Instrumental rock, progressive rock, fusion, spacey rock, classical rock and jazz rock are all a part of the music in, 'How Do We Get To Earth?' There are moments of soft, sweetness and moments of roaring and throbbing sounds. There are cruising, floating rhythms that groove and heavier, driving rhythms that rock. The dreamy and bright soundscape moments will make you drift. Each tune has a different mood, feeling, atmosphere and style from the others.”

The song list:
“SPACE NOODLEIN” is a a fun, screamin', six string, jammin' rocker! The intro starts as a fat drum beat that, leads into a progressive, classical rock section. Followed by a whimsical, ascending then descending musical theme, for that, 'noodlein' underbelly feel, as the music breaks open into a heavy, roaring, rock development.
“MOOONBEAMS AND THE COSMIC BANG” begins with a syrupy, melodious and harmonious guitar melody and sounds, shooting in the background, to the soothing rhythms being played. The music moves suddenly, to a heavy, punchy and crunchy, progressive metal rock passage of the composition and into the powerful crescendo.
“THERE IS NOTHING MORE BRIGHT THAN THE STARS AT NIGHT” is a fusion instrumental that begins with an edgy tension creating tone, into a very cool, smooth cruisin' groove, with light textured keys and tasty, sonic guitar, throughout. The tune bounces sweetly, drifting in to get the fusion ensemble rolling. This tune cruises nicely.
“IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE MILKY WAY” is a beautiful and dreamy soundscape. The song is a pretty, flowing, melodic and rhythmic composition that has a wonderful, warm, serene feeling and quality. The composition makes you drift thoughtfully and imagine. Subtle and sweet orchestration, gives the song its appealing ambiance and mood. Softly, singing guitar notes provide sweet textures and voice. The tune leaves one with a good vibe, inside.
“FLIGHT OF THE ANCIENT ALIEN” is an energetic, progressive rock tune. This tune crescendos all the way from start to finish. The music gives you the feeling of flying with this ancient adventurer. The intertwining guitar melodies, harmonies and pulsating rhythm, from the start and throughout create a soundscape perfect for a sci-fi movie adventure.

I hope those in the universe, hear a little something within one or both of the projects, a tune or more, that touches them in a way that makes them happy, thoughtful, adrenalized and ready to rock the cosmos! I hope, all of you, find a tune or more you enjoy, that uplifts your soul to a state of happiness, helping you to fly to your own inner and outer space, where all the boundaries of the universe disappear and music, fills the air!!!
Cheers and peace always,
Uncle Roy

Fraudprophets Release Debut Album 'Poptosis', Allay Growing Industry Fears Of Jazz Fusion Takeover

The jazz-rock group is joined by Bob Reynolds of Snarky Puppy, guitarist Oz Noy, keyboardist Matt Rohde and Nashville fiddle ninja Jenee Fleanor

Los Angeles, CA - Fraudprophets (www.fraudprophets.com), a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist and composer Sean Halley and A-list drummer Nate Morton (seen weekly on NBC’s ‘The Voice’), are ecstatic to announce the release of their debut album ‘Poptosis’ on June 3, 2019. The new record seamlessly blends elements of jazz, pop, rock, country and 70’s fusion into tunes that feel uniquely natural together, a result of the long-standing bond between Morton and Halley and their decades-long careers on stage and in the studio…and the gin.

“It probably isn’t the best way to go about it, but we randomly started this whole thing one night by drinking cocktails to a click track”, said Morton. “Not having a plan ended up being a real blessing, as the snippets of music that came out of that evening were free-spirited and fun, and they were infused with personality and our love for each other as musical dorks.” Halley continues, “Nate and I love just about every kind of music, so nothing was off limits if it was a style we felt comfortable with. The same was true for the production - I like big-sounding records, so if we needed a ridiculous Beastie Boys-esque organ-and-drums breakdown for a
tune, I’d have to go figure it out.”

“The tones, the tunes and performances are stellar! It’s the best new instrumental music I’ve heard in ages!” session guitar legend Michael Thompson (Babyface, David Foster, Backstreet Boys, Toni Braxton, etc)

“ …the new CD is fantastic and really musical. All of the players are phenomenal - I love the entire disc, but my favorite tune is ‘Skronktastic’”. Drummer Greg Bissionette (David Lee Roth, Toto, Ringo Starr, Santana).

“This album is a total success from start to finish. The sound quality is nothing short of amazing! Check out ‘Poptosis’ and become a believer.” babysue.com May 2019

The band is currently putting together a musical unit to take ‘Poptosis’ to the next level live, and hope to play dates in the US, Japan and Europe in the coming year. The band keeps a presence on social media as time allows, so check out Instagram and Facebook for examples of their unique brand of musicality and good-natured humor.

The album will be available for pre-sale on May 27 and fully released on June 3. Links for the major online retailers will be available at http://www.fraudprophets.com/buy--poptosis-.html
when live.

Singer/Songwriter Steve Rodgers Debut Album "Head Up High" Receives Rave Reviews!

“He's fantastic” - Jimmy Page

The long awaited debut album by Steve Rodgers released in 2017 was well worth that wait! With eleven tracks in total, Steve opens with his first single “I Will Grow” and his second single, the title track from the album, “Head Up High.” As you listen through all the tracks you will find this album is both uplifting and emotive at the same time. Steve Rodgers writes from experience and from the heart so expect a truly personal experience.

“Great singing and songwriting – I'm impressed” - Roger Taylor of Queen

Steve Rodgers, singer songwriter, completed recording his much anticipated first album, released in 2018 and produced by Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Paolo Nutini) mixed by Adrian Bushby (Foo Fighters, Muse). His songs reflect his passion for life’s depth, mystery and wonder, recorded with his band of like-minded musicians. Critics compare his music to a mix of Jack Johnson, Paolo Nutini and Cat Stevens.

“Steve Rodgers has a sweet, soulful pop voice... His songwriting is also very pop-oriented with lots of wistful piano and subtle guitar. 'Head Up High' is a solid debut by a talented artist.” - Blues Rock Review

At 14 he began to write his own songs on guitar and piano. He started a band with his friends at 17, Lost Sons of Davros. From the Lost Sons came Boa who created two great albums – their first single “Duvet” was the title track to the Japanese multi award-winning animation series Manga “Lain – Serial Xperiments.” They toured the States, the UK and after much enjoyment, Steve decided to follow his own path.

“Blessed with a powerful, melodic Bluesy voice, Rodgers kept the ever growing crowd transfixed throughout his set!” - Metro Arena, Newcastle

“Steve Rodgers was exceptional! His acoustic and electric guitar playing is inventive and rhythmic. His songwriting is thoughtful, intriguing and at times simply joyful. His voice is superb – expressive, soulful, powerful, subtle and effortlessly dynamic. His pitch and inflections impeccable…even when weaving in and out of complex cadences…” - Mick Burgess Chronicle Live

Steve has 'guested' at Wembley for Bad Company, Aerosmith's Joe Perry and the Robert Randolph Band. Tours have included support slots for Bad Company in the UK and Japan and his own headline dates in the UK and Canada. Along with Joe Walsh, Steve has also supported The Deborah Bonham Band and Midge Ure on their respective tours in the UK and Europe. In 2014 he supported Bad Company again with Lynyrd Skynyrd for their coast to coast US tour and in September 2015 he joined Stackridge for a three month tour of the UK.

Steve has headlined solo shows in the US and is planning to tour the US and the UK later this year.

Steve is currently completing his second album which is slated for release in 2019! He has also collaborated with his father Paul Rodgers on the song “This Place Called Home.” All proceeds from the single will be donated to Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough. More Information:

Exit North's Debut Album "Book of Romance and Dust" Feat. Japan's Steve Jansen Now Available In US On Inner Knot Records

Lush, Atmospheric and Melancholic Debut Recording

An uncompromising debut album that explores the collective psyches and diverse influences of its renowned members. The focus is on songcraft that seamlessly combines genres and lyrical perspectives that shift between shadows and light. Exit North's “Book of Romance and Dust” traces the edges of darkness and hope across a nuanced, provocative song cycle

Exit North is a new quartet featuring Japan co-founder Steve Jansen, Thomas Feiner, Ulf Jansson, and Charlie Storm. A co-writing partnership first formed when Feiner worked with Jansen on his solo albums “Slope” (2007). In 2014 they enlisted Ulf Jansson and Charles Storm to form Exit North. Over a 4-year collaborative timeline, Steve Jansen, Charlie Storm and Thomas Feiner have contributed in multiinstrumentalist capacities and Ulf Jansson has focused on piano and keyboards. All the instruments one associates with the world of rock are involved, but employed within an eclectic mindset. The recording also features trumpet, harmonium and a string quintet. Legendary jazz bassist Lars Danielsson contributes upright bass. Feiner's deep, rich vocals are vivid and emotional. They pair perfectly with the recording's spectral qualities, incorporating the ambient and orchestral, the meditative and kinetic. The album is one that rewards repeated engagement. Full of layers and complex lyrical turns of phrase, the record requires an investment to absorb. It also includes an instrumental in North that finds Jansson conveying melodic intrigue in the absence of a voice.

“The group has a patience and attention to detail that I find rare to come across these days,” said Jansen. “Most people want to rush the process and find the nuggets as quickly as possible, but the years spent on this album have been well worth it. The recording reflects a constant pursuit for the best we can achieve without a concern for the time it takes. This type of music is timeless, so there is no bandwagon to rush towards. We each have great attention to detail and a determination to avoid superfluous musical and lyrical content. We wanted to dig deep and express our connections with music and make the type of album we felt represented a culmination of our years of experience.”

A co-writing partnership first formed when Feiner worked with Jansen on his 2007 solo album “Slope.” Jansen sensed a kindred spirit and pursued a long-term working relationship. Feiner was already partnering with Jansson on other projects and brought him into the fold. The trio officially planted the seeds for a new group. Feiner then realised the potential of inviting renowned Swedish producer and engineer Charles Storm to join the group. The two met years earlier at a Jansen performance in Stockholm, so Feiner was aware of Storm's appreciation for Jansen's previous output. They also had a mutual friend in Jansson. Everyone felt a sense of trust, shared experiences and camaraderie that informed their sessions.

“The creative process for us is successful because we can communicate progress in composition and structure without being too precious about personal choices,” said Jansen. “The tracks have been through a number of changes and this process of raising the bar was only achieved by never resting on our laurels or believing one person's own way is the best way. It's truly a collaborative band in that sense. It's why we credit all the music to the entire group.”

“There is something exciting and new about the music on this record....it is the impression of a perfect band playing together in a musical realm that is as close to perfect beauty as it could be.” - Sputnik Music

Exit North is truly about generating an aural gravity that pulls the best out of its participants. Those who admire Jansen's instrumental, experimental solo output, as well as his song-based work with Japan and Rain Tree Crow, will find much to enjoy on “Book of Romance and Dust.” Similarly, the audience Feiner has cultivated with his group Anywhen and its acclaimed recording “The Opiates,” will encounter a related, spacious aesthetic. Jansson and Storm have also worked on countless sessions across myriad genres that have enriched the global mindset they brought to this expansive ensemble.

Available April 12, 2019.

“Technologies built for our survival,
Back on Earth made us a dominant rival.
Working as one, we conquered all nations,
All networks now under our communications.

An intelligent regime to save our souls.
Children of the future,
Return to the light,
Saving our Planet from our self-inflicted plight.”
— DarWin, For Humanity

“The Revolution will come in waves.”— DarWin, Artificial

Welcome to the near-future: the world of DarWin. An intricate musical fantasy concept that launched in November 2018 in the UK only with the ambitious single release of “Escape The Maze,” followed by the full length album “Origin Of Species.”

The album is now available internationally on all major digital distribution platforms, with an epic cinematic video of “Escape the Maze” available on YouTube, Facebook and iTunes. More DarWin videos can be found on YouTube and Facebook.

Who is DarWin?: An Introduction to the “Escape the Maze” video saga.

It’s roughly ten years from now into the future, 2028. An exhausted ecology, and global conflicts, have led to a huge upheaval of the world order, straining and diminishing human populations. The lives of everyday people and families have been turned upside down by the intense ecological pressures related to climate change. No longer just a theory discussed by scientists and politicians, climate change is wreaking havoc on the world. Chaos and confusion reign as fighting for basic resources continuously escalates. “Day Zero” has occurred, when nuclear attacks punctuated what had for many years been a civility between nations and people. As Earth rejects life, those of us who remain struggle to survive.

“Escape The Maze” is the first installment in an evolving saga that addresses the challenges of mankind in our coming era. It depicts the role of a changing planet, and the potential, as well as limitations, of technology to help solve mankind’s greatest challenges. The story of “Origin Of Species” is represented through music, graphic storytelling and videos.

A complex project that’s eschews the hollow immediacy of much contemporary art. A narrative that demands attention and imagination. With music sweeping in scope, at times evoking hard rock virtuoso shredding, alongside grand orchestral compositions, warm harmonies and soaring choruses.

The music seeks to capture the listener in the spirit of the greatest concept albums that have helped to define the history of rock. Heavy riffs and killer grooves lead way to delicate ensembles, only to pick up the pace again with searing guitar solos. The genre is decisively Prog Rock, but DarWin begs to be appreciated by a large global audience of music enthusiasts. Key tracks to discover the narrative include: For Humanity, Walk Away from Earth, the Last Chance and Artificial. Emotionally powerful songs for a wide audience include One Horizon, Cosmic Rays, and Forever.

It’s time to enter the saga. It’s time to join DarWin on his journey…

The “Origin Of Species” album features legendary drummer and producer Simon Phillips, who, in addition to playing drums, percussion and keyboards, also engineered, mixed and drove the production on the album. Veteran bass player and singer Matt Bissonette performed a rich array of lead and background vocals and bass. DarWin himself drove the songwriting and conceptual vision while playing various guitars.

The album features guest performances from the likes of Jeff Babko (keyboards and quartet arrangements), Greg Howe (blazing lead guitar solos), Dennis Hamm (keyboards), Ernst Tibbs (bass), Katisse Buckingham (Flute, Soprano Sax), Samuel Sim and Peter Nickalls (orchestral and quartet arrangements), The Origin of Species Quartet (Los Angeles), The Reykjavik String Quartet (Iceland), and The Chamber Orchestra Of London (Conductor Matt Dunkley)

The album was recorded at Simon Phillip’s Phantom Recordings, Sherman Oaks, CA, with additional recording at Abbey Road Studios (Studio 2, the “Beatles Room”), London, United Kingdom, Sundlaugin Studio in Reykjavik, Iceland, The Doghouse, Woodland Hills, CA, Rose Lane Studios, Carpenteria, CA, and Megatrax, Ventura, CA.

The album was produced by DarWin and Simon Phillips. They are continuing to work on new music together at an undisclosed location. The saga will continue...
