An orchestra can take a piece of music and lift it to a higher plane, it just does, and my dream was to hear and perform my solo work with an orchestra. The Legacy Tour was the vehicle for that, the timing was right and my dream came true.” – Annie Haslam

Symphonic Rock Legends Renaissance Featuring Annie Haslam To Launch The Legacy Fall Tour 2022

A celebration of Annie Haslam’s 75th year. Classic Renaissance with the Renaissance Chamber Orchestra and music from Annie’s solo career.

This Fall Renaissance will be back on tour with a string of dates culminating at Town Hall, NYC on October 29. The band, which celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2019, is widely recognized for its integration of rock and classical music, the use of a full symphony orchestra, and the 5-octave voice of lead singer Annie Haslam.

Renaissance secured its place on the world stage with a top ten hit “Northern Lights” and performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall in London and Carnegie Hall in New York each with full orchestra ‘live’ on stage. An album release from one of the Carnegie Hall concerts is considered a staple among fans of symphonic rock to this day.

As its title suggests, the tour this year will highlight the career of Annie Haslam in celebration of her 75th birthday this June. Six of the shows will include the Renaissance Chamber Orchestra, comprised of ten hand picked orchestral musicians, that made its debut with Renaissance in 2017.

The band and orchestra will be playing a unique line up of selections that will include Annie Haslam’s favorite Renaissance classics alongside favorites from her many solo recordings. Much of the music from these shows will be performed for the first time with orchestral arrangements. The group plans to release a double CD in 2023 from recordings captured during the tour.

Symphonic Rock Legends Renaissance feat. Annie Haslam Release “50th Anniversary - Ashes are Burning - an Anthology - Live in Concert with The Renaissance Chamber Orchestra”

Featuring special guest Jim McCarty!

Renaissance are proud to announce the release of their Blu-ray/DVD/2CD set of the 50th Anniversary Concert at The Keswick Theatre in Glenside PA, USA on October 12th 2019, featuring their own 10-piece Renaissance Chamber Orchestra and with special guest Renaissance co-founder Jim McCarty.

It is time to celebrate the culmination of the bands widespread touring and recording over the past 50 years with their first high-definition concert film and Blu-ray release.

Renaissance featuring lead singer Annie Haslam performed an impressive concert of high quality musicianship alongside a magical backdrop of paintings for each song in the show, created by Annie. The combination was stunning.

The concert film is a retrospective celebration of Renaissance classics songs, some of which have never been orchestrated before, including their most notably “Ashes Are Burning”!

Watch the video for “Day of Dreamer”:

Annie Haslam says: I am so proud I was chosen to be lead singer in this incredibly unique band and to have witnessed all the musicians that have been a part of our history, each person adding something extra into the mix and life of the band. Particularly the band that we are now, who have put their hearts and souls into this music. Rave Tesar, our keyboardist and MD has taken the band to a new level by creating our own orchestra of hand-picked musicians... when we go touring now it’s like a 16-piece band, and to have them with us on our 50th Anniversary tour was so natural and perfect. Personally, I have come full circle with our special guest and friend Renaissance co-founder Jim McCarty who was at my audition on December 31st 1970! He added such special moments and memories as we performed ‘Island’, written by Keith Relf and Jim, the song that got me the job!

Renaissance are: Annie Haslam - lead vocals, Rave Tesar - keyboards, Mark Lambert - guitars/vocals, Geoffrey Langley - keyboards/vocals, Leo Traversa - bass guitar/vocals, Frank Pagano - drums/percussion/vocals

Renaissance is a band with a rich history unique unto themselves as progressive rock pioneers who rose from the ashes of the seminal UK rock band, The Yardbirds. Acclaimed for their unique blending of progressive rock with classical and symphonic influences, the band's career has now spanned fifty years spearheaded by the 5 octave voice of Annie Haslam and the masterful songwriting skills of Michael Dunford. They are widely considered to be the band that most successfully and routinely utilized the sound of a full orchestra in their recordings.

The band has toured throughout the world and has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and additionally at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Chorale Society. Renaissance had a top ten hit in the UK with their song “Northern Lights” that still demands airplay to this day.

Retail release will follow through Symphonic Rock Recordings in the United States, Canada and South America on April 23rd other territories will be distributed through Cherry Red Records on April 30.

Potter's Daughter to Release New Single "Blood and Water" Featuring Renaissance Legend Annie Haslam on August 8th!

The single will be available digitally, CD single and limited edition 7-inch vinyl!

NYC - Potter's Daughter will be releasing their new single “Blood and Water” featuring legendary Renaissance vocalist Annie Haslam on August 8, 2019! The single will be available digitally, CD single and limited edition 7-inch vinyl!

Potter's Daughter was formed in New York City while Dyanne Potter Voegtlin was studying classical piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music. A pupil of Robert Goldsand and Mike Longo, Dyanne searched for the marriage of classical theory and virtuosity with the freedom and innovation of jazz both in study and performance. Together with a rotating group of masters from many schools of music, Dyanne performed regularly in New York City, as well as in north-eastern Pennsylvania.

Now, joining forces with long-time friend, Amit Chatterjee, (producer, arranger, and guitarist), and Ian C. Voegtlin (composer, guitarist, and saxophonist), they are looking forward to releasing their first single, “Blood and Water,” featuring guest artist Annie Haslam. This single marks the beginning of the band's evolution from the acoustic and eclectic sound of their debut album, “The Blind Side.” Embracing more elements of fusion and progressive rock, Potter's Daughter's “New Prog” philosophy creates a listening experience of complex melodic composition, emotional vocal leads and harmonies, and searing solos.

Says Dyanne, “Annie Haslam is not just the #1 female legend in Prog, she is also an exceptionally warm-hearted and generous woman. Her natural musicality shines through every note she so beautifully and expressively sings. It has been both an honor and a pleasure working with her.”

“On first hearing of 'Blood and Water' I was struck by its unusual and haunting melody and Dyanne's exquisite voice. To be a part of it was truly a wonderful experience.” - Annie Haslam

RENAISSANCE PERFORMING TWO EXCLUSIVE CONCERTS IN TOKYO 17th & 18th SEPTEMBER 2018

Symphonic Rock Recordings is delighted to announce the release of a new 2 CD and DVD live album by Renaissance, “A Symphonic Journey”. This wonderful recording captures in sound and vision a very special concert staged at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside PA, USA on 27th October 2017. Renaissance perform an extensive set of classic material with the Renaissance Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble especially formed for a series of American concerts.

Annie Haslam comments: “Renaissance has touched so many hearts across land and sea, for what seems to be most of a lifetime now, in the performance of this exquisite and unique music. “I was filled with pride and overwhelmed with emotion when we finally stepped onto the stage for this performance. To look over my shoulder and see all of the classical musicians with their instruments, brought back my vivid memory of our orchestral performance forty years ago in London, of Renaissance at The Royal Albert Hall with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

“Renaissance band members Rave Tesar, Mark Lambert, Leo Traversa, Geoffrey Langley and Charles Descarfino are impeccable on this DVD in their performance of the timeless music. In the culmination of a perfect blend with the Renaissance Chamber Orchestra who graced our stage, how wonderful it was and is to be able to share this incredible, unforgettable evening with our loyal supportive fans who have accompanied us on this musical-spiritual journey”.

“A Symphonic Journey” captures on two CDs and a DVD (NTSC / Region Free) the magic of the concert and features such classic material as “Trip To The Fair”, “Carpet Of The Sun”, “Mother Russia”, “A Song For All Seasons” and “Ashes Are Burning” and is a fine souvenir of a perfect musical evening.

This is their third DVD release preceded by the 2015 'Live at the Union Chapel, London, England' and the 'Turn of the Cards/ Scheherazade and Other Stories' 2011 release 'Live' at the Keswick Theatre, Glenside, PA. For this new DVD the band once again returned to the Keswick Theatre, this time employing the use of track and boom mounted cameras to create more up close and personal shots of the band and orchestra. The concert also featured large screen projections of original paintings by Annie Haslam, with corresponding titles to each song performed throughout the concert.

The DVD/2CD set will be available from Amazon USA, Europe, and Japan. Also, 'Annie Haslam' signed copies will be available through the band's website: www.renaissancetouring.com

A Symphonic Journey With Renaissance - Music Legends Renaissance Featuring Annie Haslam To Play Selected Dates With 10-Piece Chamber Orchestra!

Renaissance Fall 2017 US Tour!

Following their successful South American tour, Renaissance featuring Annie Haslam will be back in the US Northeast in October and November 2017 debuting their “Symphonic Journey” tour. This tour will include four very special concerts featuring a “10-piece Chamber Orchestra” (a handpicked assemblage of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion); October 26th at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield CT, October 27th at the Keswick Theater in Glenside PA, Town Hall in New York City October 28th and The Egg in Albany NY on October 29th. These performances will be the first time in 40 years that Renaissance will perform on stage with a “live” orchestra and, in addition, 2017 marks the 48th year since the band's formation and its ninth consecutive year of touring since their reactivation in 2009.

Plans are currently being made for the group to film the October 27th Keswick Theatre show for an upcoming DVD release, which will follow the success of their 2015 London Union Chapel DVD. Additional tour performances without the chamber orchestra are currently being scheduled. A crowd funding campaign has been started to raise the significant funds to produce the new live DVD

Renaissance leader and vocalist, Annie Haslam remarks, “The band keeps getting stronger and stronger and the addition of the chamber orchestra will be the most exciting event for the band in years. Ms Haslam will be joined on stage by long time musical associate Rave Tesar on piano along with Tom Brislin on keyboards, Mark Lambert on guitars, Frank Pagano on drums and percussion, and Leo Traversa on bass.

Renaissance is a band with a rich history unique unto themselves as progressive rock pioneers who rose from the ashes of the seminal UK rock band, The Yardbirds. Acclaimed for their unique blending of progressive rock with classical and symphonic influences, the band's career has spanned forty plus years spearheaded by the 5 octave voice of Annie Haslam and the masterful songwriting skills of Michael Dunford.

Renaissance had a top ten hit in the UK with their song Northern Lights that still demands airplay to this day.
